Drought

feb '14
Drought – that awful disrupter of lives,
bore troughs
Sheep will not do well on water alone.  (there is plenty of bore water for drinking)
Feb 14
Very dry, hot and bare of any grass.

The horse takes advantage of the hose that is filling the troughs, to have a cool down.

These sheep have learnt that when the lawn mower starts there will be grass clippings thrown over the fence - not a lot, but enough for a little nibble .

The kangaroos come into the house yard at night and early morning to eat the lawn grass.

Another empty cloud.

There are still gorgeous things to see -like sunsets.
And these gorgeous little people.

The packing up went well.  These little Grandies LOVED their makeshift cubbies.

What a great little helper. (or not).  Especially when she carefully unfolded the clothes and placed them back in the laundry basket. (sorry Mum, you will have to fold them again.)
They are off on an adventure, (town jobs) until the drought breaks – then THEY WILL BE BACK.

Sad to read they have to leave. Unfortunately that is happening to a lot of our farmers - so cruel. A big step to have to take. Kids!! They can lighten our days through any rough times!! We have rain down here today but I don't think it is reaching that far north unfortunately. I hope everything works out for the better for your family.

I hope it will soon change and rain will fall. You have the heat and we in our region too warm for winter - we have to take it how it comes. Your little ones are so cute to see.

Very tough for the family. Sheep aren't so silly after all. Wishing them well And good steady rain.

It really has been a long dry spell hasn't it..... so hard for all the families working the land. We finally had some rain a couple of days back with more each day since.........I hope it spreads a lot further inland!

Take care on your travels.

I hope the town jobs meet their needs and that the drought breaks soon. We sure do live in a land of droughts and flooding rains don't we.

It is terrible, the drought. Do hope they get some rain soon. Isn't it amazing how a cardboard box can keep the littlies happy for hours!

isn't it dreadful? I think it just makes it more sad that it's affecting so many people that we in the UK are under 3 feet of water which is affecting people here.
