Trying something new

At our handwork group which is run at our lovely store, Sew This and That, we have been working on some (very beginner) brazillian embroidery.  We made our piece into an evening purse.   I still need to buy the chain handle for mine.

While working on it I wasnt so sure I would like the finished result, but once the purse was stitched up it looked much better.
We "learnt" from a book, and worked it out as we went, so I am not sure it would be approved of by a more experienced brazillian embroiderer, but we all are happy with the result.

Its turned out very well - and if you are all happy who cares what the brazilian embroidery police say? Well done. Its good to try something different occasionally.

Good work on the Brazilian Emb. Marilyn. Did you use the tricky rayon threads? Love your header with all the littlies - cute.

I am not familiar with Brazilian embroidery but am now a fan. It looks so intricate and I love the colors that you used. It is always fun to see what you are sewing.

This is lovely Marilyn. I've never tried Brazillian embroidery either but looking at the thread I would think it's quite an art!
