This month’s tutorial is by Wendy Sheppard. Wendy based her motif on the jester’s hat, and described it as a simple but fun quilting motif. I really enjoyed doing this one. As usual my doodling on paper was a disaster, and so that step frustrates me enormously. I seem to achieve a much better result by just looking and following the line of the stitching with my eye for some time before stitching it. Not so easy with a more complicated design though.
I have used 2 different sewing machines (hence 2 colours) as my main machine is not behaving nicely for fmq at the moment. It is skipping stitches – I have tried changing needles, needle types and thread, but it still happens – a visit to the technician is the next step.
There is also a bonus tutorial by Susan Brubaker this month, and I am looking forward to experimenting with it as soon as I am able to do so.

Great FMQ Marilyn
My machine is in the hospital at the moment but when it gets back I'd like to give this a try. Good on you - your results are great.

That's a great pattern - lucky you have a "spare" so you can keep working.
Very nice - it is such a fun design, isn't it?
Your Jester's Hat looks GREAT! Thanks for trying out the pattern... and congrats for a job well done.
