Lest we forget

Lovely to see Brett at home and with his wife and boys for Anzac Day. 

The Grandies were very proud to march with their Cub Scout group. It was Kai's turn to wear their great grandad's medals. My Dad would have been so proud of them.

Ship is in again - and that's my boy!!!

After an extended time sailing around north of Australia, the ship is home. Welcome home Dunx. Can't wait to see you when you are able to come to Queensland.

February's project for Sewing Club at Sew This and That

Inside has mesh pockets. 

It goes well with my all time favourite bag,  the Preston Bag, a design by Dawn Hay for our 2014 Lets Get Stitched retreat. 

My new drink bottle bag

Our sewing club project at Sew This and That yesterday was a wine bottle bag. I changed mine to hold a water bottle. 

The back has embroidery stitches which don't show well on the photo. The bag is lined with insulshine to keep the contents cool. Instead of a straight bag with handle I put a drawstring. 

Those folded diamonds were a bit tricky to sew in. But we all got there eventually.

First finish for the year

Last year my cousin asked me to make her a runner for a table her hubby made her. When asked about style, colour etc her response was "surprise me". How scary is that. It was the first time I had been to her home so had a quick look around to try to absorb her style.

Just before Christmas I sent her pics of the finished top and she was thrilled. She said I had got her colours just right. (Phew!!!!!)

It is now finished - my first finish for 2016. 

Dress ups

RC472007035HKDress up night at Scouts tonight. They weren't keen for Halloween costumes so we have a Ninja and a pirate. The pirate cape was a rushed sewing job this afternoon. Now the Ninja would like a cape too. 

Where has that time gone?

It is hard to believe that it is now 3 years since this gorgeous little Grandie made her dramatic entrance into the world.

Upholstering Projects

Some of the reupholstering projects I have worked on lately.  The child's armchair and the footstools have sold in our Eclect.chic store.  The dolls Cradle has a mattress and pillow as well as the reversible quilt.

I have also been using some of our small vintage doileys to make needlebooks.  The top shows a closed needlebook, and at the bottom is one which is opened up.  They are quick to make and look so sweet.  I will be hunting out some more small doileys so as to make more of these.
